“Actively seeking out joy is how we fight discouragement and fear. It’s how we fight our tendency to complain, accuse or be offended. Joy is a decision, a really brave one, about how you will respond to life in all its circumstances.”
Not every day is a good day, and when we become born again believers in Jesus Christ, a simple and painless life is not guaranteed. But difficulty and hardship does not have to rob us of our joy!
We need to make a decision each and every day to seek joy. We need to be grateful when joy is prevalent around us and we need to chase joy even when it isn’t easily found. We need to rise above the circumstances that threaten to steal our joy and remember the one true source of that joy…Jesus Christ.
Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.
