God’s Handwritten Letter to You

Are you old fashioned like me? Like..I totally geek out over the stationary aisle at the store, all of the paper…THE PENS!  And don’t even get me started on the awesome smell of a bookstore! There is something so wonderful about the smell of new books and paper. It’s a little bit heavenly!

I love writing things with my hands, but even better is receiving a handwritten note. A few weeks ago, I went to my mailbox to get the daily pile of boring junk mail. But I was stopped short at the mailbox when I found what appeared to be a card, handwritten to ME! I opened it up, expecting it to be an invitation to some sort of shower, but guess what it was? A 3 page, hand-written note from a lovely customer of mine. Three pages of pure, beautiful heart-baring gratitude from a lovely woman who took a few minutes out of her day. She put pen to paper and told me, in her own handwriting how one thing that I wrote had actually been a turning point in her faith walk. I kept that letter. It was so special and meant so much to me that someone would take the time to do that just for me!

I have a whole little pile of handwritten cards and notes that I have kept over the years. When I’m down, I can look at them and remember the moment someone thought to write to me. When I am doing well and see the pile, it reminds me that I should send someone else a handwritten note. Just to keep the blessings going.

Do you know what else? This is exactly what I think of God’s Word, the Bible.

He wrote it just for you.

He wrote it so you could read it and know His heart.

He wrote it so you could read it when things are bad.

He wrote it so you could look at it when things are good and share it with those around you!

He is all over every page and each word that you read reflects a piece of who God is. And even better than those notes that I hold on to, God tells us His Word lasts forever!

The grass withers and the flowers fall,
but the word of our God endures forever.
Isaiah 40:8

So tell me, do you have a pile?

Do you hang on to handwritten notes?

And do you think it’s something that we don’t do enough?
If so, grab a pen and some paper, write someone a letter and mail it to them!

If you do, please comment below and let me know. I’d love to hear how many letters get sent!

Blessings,

Angie
